Sparkler ( Zero Hold Up) Filter Press is a filtration equipment used for filter liquid in wide range of industries like: pharmaceutical, chemical, beverage, and other industries. Zero Hold Up Filter Press works on the principle of pressure feeding.
The sparkler filter press consists of an assembly of filter plates and filter cloth with perforated S.S. supporting screens enclosed in an S.S. shell. The assembly is equipped with a pump to pressurize the liquid through the stack of horizontally arranged filter plates. In filter press cartridge assembly is designed with central spacers in each of the plates. The interlocking between spacers serves as a central pipeline, feedi equal quantities of unfiltered liquid into each of the plates. Solid particulates in the liquid get filtered and remain on the screen, allowing only the pure liquid to pass ahead. The filtered liquid is then collected at the bottom of the tank through holes provided on each of the plates.
The Oral Liquid Zero Hold Up Filter Press is used for achieving clear filtration quality for high-value liquids. Meeting GMP & FDA norms, these filter presses can be made available with the support of different pumps like centrifugal, gear, lobe and roto as per the specific process application demands. Further, the cartridge assembly comprises perforated screens, plates, and spacers, as well as filter media, to provide for optimum process support.

The Zero Hold Up Sparkler Filter Press is the most versatile filtration system for solid-liquid separation. It can also be used apart from filtration with the help of filter aids for giving a sparkling effect to the liquids filtered. The filters are most suited for the filtration of product for the pharmaceutical, chemical, distillery, beverage, ink, oil and other allied industries. It is available in different output capacities with a variety of pumps to suit individual requirements.
Construction:
The filters are made out of stainless steel S304, SS316 & SS316L qualities. The cartridge assembly consists of a number of disc-type filter plates with perforated support screens, filter media and interlocking cups placed one on top of the other and supported at the bottom by a cartridge plate. The entire assembly is held together with the help of side tie rods which are of "T" type construction for longer life. The filter, together with the pump and interconnecting piping, is mounted on a sturdy base clad with S.S. sheets and provided with castors for movability. The filter can be supplied without a pump where external positive pressure is available.
Operation:
The liquid to be filtered is passed into the vessels by means of the pump or other external means. The liquid then passes through the top the filter plates from the holes provided at the side of the plate and on to the filter media. The liquid flows simultaneously and individually through all the member plates. Hence, the output of the filter depends on the diameter and the number of plates. The filter media then retains the impurities in the liquid, and the filtered liquid passes through the central channel to the outlet at the bottom. The filters are optionally available with a steam jacket for filtration of difficult liquids that solidify at lower temperatures. This type of filter is generally used for obtaining clear filtrate, but it can also be used to obtain the cake that is retained on the filter media between the plates.
